    Program transfer and installation process


    How does installation work?Is it possible to simply merge registry changes and copy files to successfully "install" a program onto another computer?Let's say I clean installed Windows, and then cloned that disk.I then installed a program on 1 of the installations.Could I simply copy the registry hive from that installation to the cloned disk and copy the program files over?What is it about the installation process that is so special that migrating programs is so impossible that it's never given a thought?

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    wow, I didnt know there were programs for this. alot of them list the operating system as linux, though. does this mean they run on linux, or that they can only be used on a linux partition?
