Windows 10: 'programas' is not a valid short file name

Discus and support 'programas' is not a valid short file name in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I 've tried to install vmware and virtualbox but I can't because I have this problem, if anyone can help me....     'Documents' is not a valid short file name

    I am running Windows 10 and have an error pop up I do not know how to handle.

    It started when I tried updating software I've run on Windows for years (EnergyPro). I am receiving the error:

    'Documents' is not a valid short file name

    I've tried uninstalling the program to maybe try a clean install but am receiving the same rejection.

    Please advise.

    Glad to help! Hopefully those steps fix it, but if not then you could try installing the software on another Windows 10 PC to see if the same problem occurs. It could be an incompatibility with a recent Windows update, so you could try rolling back to
    a previous update but that would be only a short-term solution.

    Anyway let me know how you go!

    Of course there is. Simply click the Skip this step in the user creation dialog and create a local account in next dialog:

    'programas' is not a valid short file name [​IMG]
