Windows 10: Programmes starting up with Windows. No way to disable?

I always thought the startup tab in task manager was the ONLY place to find out what is starting. I have a couple of programmes always in the tray which do not show in there.

I've been through the start menu "startup" folder, nothing there either? Where do I need to go to disable these "hidden" programmes from starting?

One of the items is an Adobe updater.

Where are my programmes listed using Windows 10

I have just bought a new laptop with windows 10 and have downloaded various programmes. Where are they ?!

I can't find a list of them anywhere. They are not added to those daft boxes on the front screen and they are not in the list when I click on the Start button, just some are listed but not many and in an order I don't like, last purchased then frequently
used (not) and who wants 'suggestion for paid programmes' ?)

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.

 

Jasc Paint Shop Pro 5 will not work in Windows 10 - starts but freezes. Any ideas?

I have carried out all the steps you suggested plus uninstalling and re-installing the programme and again carrying out the suggested steps but still had no joy. I open a folder and it starts to display the photos but then stalls and says it is 'loading'
the remaining photos in that folder but then freezes and the only way I can get out of the programme is Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
