Windows 10: Programs in second hard drive have no icon in windows search

Long story short, I accidentally installed a virus on my computer, ran through Malwarebytes and windows defender multiple times and got rid of it. But now I have a problem.


Any program that I have installed on my second hard drive won't have an icon when I search for it through windows search. For example, I have Premiere Pro installed on my second hard drive, but when I search for it through the search bar, it shows no icon. And under the apps category in the search results, there's a 'program' called 'premiere pro.exe', which, if I try to run it, won't do anything, and click on open file location won't do anything. But if I install premiere pro on my main hard drive, there is an icon. This gets annoying since it's delayed my work many times.


So I thought it was an issue with the hard drive. So I formated it, that didn't work. I deleted the partition and made a new one, that didn't work either.

It might be a problem that the virus caused, but I'm not entirely sure. I know that I can reinstall windows and keep my files, but I don't want to do that unless I'm sure there is no other way. So, is there a way to fix this?

Change external hard drive icon?

Hi, I have two quick questions. I have a western digital ext. hard drive and when i installed it, the icon was messed up and it is just one of those white error icons. is there a way to change it?

and seecond question. I was trying to change the icon, and accidently messed something up. not quite sure what, but whenever i double click on my hard drive to open it, instead of opening up the contents it opens up a search in a new window. anyway to change that?
