Windows 10: Programs not detecting physical disks

Hello all!I have a strange problem - I have a couple of disks that I want to make ISOs of and back up, but no programs can detect/access the raw drives.Programs can access them as drives just fine - for example, Win32 Disk Imager is perfectly capable of making an image of an ordinary USB. However, it appears that programs can't access the physical drives - they just don't detect devices. This goes for both external and internal drives.I then tried making an image using the "dd" tool provided by my Git installation, which worked - but only PowerISO can read the file. I used the following comman

programs not detected by "3d Detection"

I cant seem to get some of my 3d programs to be properly detected by 3d Detection.
a couple oldies but goodies, and yes, I do still play them.

UnrealTournament engine games
Halflife engine games

I suppose when I dust them off I could just manually load a profile, but it is much easier to just have proper 3d detection. I noticed an exception list, is there any way to create a list of applications that if detected running, atitool switches to your 3d profile?

I've tried 0.23 and 0.24b1 no success.
Using 5.2 Catalyst drivers.
3d detection verified operational by doom3, HL2, 3dmark2001,2003, aquamark and a few more.

 

External disk not getting detected on Windows 10

Let us know few things to assist you in this regard.

Did you check connecting the disk to some other PC?

Does your PC shows any notification, when you try to plug in the disk?

Is it showing in Disk Management? Press Windows key + X and select
Disk Management from the list to open it. See if it showing there.

Suggest you to check the disk by connecting it to some other PC to see if it works there. If it works there, then connect the disk back to your PC and try to run
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to see if helps. Follow the below steps to do the same.

* Restart your PC, post complete shutdown.

* Plug in the device, press Windows Key then type ‘troubleshoot’ and hit Enter

* Select “View all” on the left panel and run “Hardware and Devices” troubleshooter from the list.

* Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Apply repair automatically”. Also ensure to select
Run as administrator.

* Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

If it neither gets detected on any PC, then the likely cause of the issue might be physical damage of the disk. You can get in touch with the device Manufacturer for assistance in this regard.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
