Windows 10: Programs open on "second screen" when second screen is completely disconnected from PC on...

What the title says.My second screen is disconnected and not available. So I can't just plug it back in and move them over.Several programs are now only opening on a non-existent second screen. It's not every program fortunately, but there are a handful that can't seem to figure out that window isn't there anymore.This has persisted across several restarts and shutdowns.The icon shows up on my taskbar and I can minimize the program, but it just opens back up outside of my desktop where I can't reach it.It is not appearing on a second Desktop, just a non existent screen that it thinks is still

1. Close all open programs.

2. Press the Windows Key + P key on your keyboard.

3. Select PC Screen Only.

• what is the exact issue that you want us to help with? Do you want to get help in projecting a second screen or to remove the popup?
• As you've said " I tried unsuccessfully to project a screen", do you wish to project a second screen currently?
• What happened exactly when you tried to project a second screen? Did you receive any error message or any error code?

The popup comes as the system might not be able to detect the monitors. I suggest you to update the Display drivers, it may force the system to detect the available monitors. Here is the steps:

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Locate the driver and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
