Windows 10: Programs won't open but you can see them on the taskbar they're open and no other icons...

Discus and support Programs won't open but you can see them on the taskbar they're open and no other icons... in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I can click on the programs on the taskbar and they do not open up on the desktop but if I hover the mouse over the taskbar they have in fact opened up...     Programs won't open but you can see them on the taskbar they're open and no other icons...


    I can click on the programs on the taskbar and they do not open up on the desktop but if I hover the mouse over the taskbar they have in fact opened up but just not to the main screen.I have tried right mouse clicking to choose Restore or Maximise and nothing happens. They just stay open in a hidden environment.Icons like sound, wifi etc. Also gone from tasknar I can only see date, windows logo and search icon and of course open apps

    Windows won`t open an program when using Microsoft user

    Windows won`t open an program when I try to open it with Microsoft account user, but when I login with local account, that program opens. I have tried with 2 Microsoft accounts, 1 admin and 1 normal user, and it won`t open in either one of them. What can cause this?

    Remove (open) programs from taskbar

    Hey all!

    Ok, so some programs I have running all the time, like Spotify and Outlook. They are actually pretty much open all the time as I finally got around to plug in the second monitor. So it feels like a waste of taskbar space to actually have them be there, especially as I have them ready at hand in the notification area.

    It seems almost no programs can do this on their own, so does anyone know of anyway that this can be done?

    EDIT: I know Outlook since 2003 have the option to "Hide when minimized", and that's good and all, but it's still in the taskbar when it's up and running.

    Excel Icon on taskbar does not open file, only program


    Pin the program to your taskbar and drag the file to the icon on the taskbar (I haven't tried this with a OneDrive stored file though). Another way is to open the file, close it, then right click the icon on the taskbar. It'll list recent files which can be pinned (both local and online files work). Unfortunately, locally stored files do not open as I mentioned. OneDrive stored files do though. Hope that helps.
