    Programs won't open,cannot download repair tools or update copy


    My laptop is not functioning. I have tried to repair files, install clean copy, rest, etc. and nothing is working. I came to microsoft downloads to try doing it by downloading and when I try to download, it crashes. Cannot use my microsoft edge at all. Cannot access files. Ran a disc can/repair and fixed a few corrupted files. Ran virus scan, all is well. None of my apps are working, I have tried everything in the settings for everything that is involved through settings, nothing works. Computer will not take a fresh copy, will not reset. Cannot do a recovery or a back up. Cannot do a restore point system recovery.
    Is there anyone out here that can help? I will provide further details if you need them about what is happening and what I have tried. About the only thing I haven't tried is resetting/reconfiguring firmware as I am not certain what to change or if it would even solve my issues. Help please!!

    Vista x64 won't download updates?

    Download either Malwarebytes or Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool to check for viruses. Not saying you have one but the old Conficker can cause what you are experiencing. My only other suggestion is to pop in your vista cd and do a system repair using it.

    Windows 10 won´t start any program as Administrator

    Hello. I´m having this issue since installed one of the latest Windows 10 system updates.

    When I try to open any program that requires Administrator confirmation (that screen with the Yes/No question), this dialog won´t appear anymore. The screen background stays darkened and nothing happens.

    1. Using Windows 10 Home (x64)
    2. My microsoft user account is properly checked
    3. I´m the administrator of the PC
    4. Already tried do create another administrator user account - same problem, no success
    5. Cannot start any program/service that requires administrator authorization (not even regedit)
    Please help!

    Vista x64 won't download updates?

    Try this, clean boot Vista:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Do Step 1. Ensure the native Vista firewall is enabled if a 3rd party
    firewall was disabled.
    Next, open Internet Explorer as administrator.
    Then try this:

    Windows Update - Additional resources - Windows Deployment

    Click the Fixit button.
    If that does not resolve the error, try downloading the
    Fixit, ResetWindows.msi, and *save* it.
    Close Internet Explorer and any other open programs, then *right* click
    ResetWindows.msi and choose Install.
    Restart afterwards and see if the error is now resolved.
