Windows 10: Protected memory access blocked relpost.exe and svchost.exe

I have been getting these messages lately: 1 Protected memory access blocked RelPost.exe from accessing \Device\HarddiskVolume1 and 2 Protected memory access blocked svchost.exe from accessing \Device\CdRom0.The second message probably is due to the installation of my printer when I inserted the CDRom to install the printer driver. I'm guessing, not sure. Message 1 got me worried a bit more. I looked at the Event Viewer for both messages and in 1 the User is Unknown user and in 2 the user is NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. Are these viruses that got in my laptop I understand from reading ot

One of my exe files is blocked in Windows but there is no explanation why

Corrupt registry settings or some third party product (or virus) can change the default configuration for running EXE files. This may lead to failed operation when you try to run EXE files. Having said that, you may want to turn off the
Controlled folder access in Windows Defender and see if it makes any difference. You can follow the steps below:

1. Open Windows Defender Security Center.
   
2. Select Virus & threat protection.
   
3. Click Virus & threat protection settings.
4. Scroll down to Mange Controlled folder access then toggle it
   Off.

Access Microsoft Game exe

The path to the folder containing the file is \WindowsApps\... and shows that the .exe you are looking at is a Store App (aka UWP app). The WindowsApps folder is owned by TrustedInstaller and heavily protected. Even as an administrator you do not have access to it. But even if you gain access, you cannot start a UWP app just by clicking on its .exe, UWP apps don't work that way.


In the Reshade Compatability List I do not see anything I recognise as a UWP app. They are all older conventional Win32 executables. It appears Reshade is not designed to work with UWP apps, only Win32 desktop apps.
