    Protection History


    The application in the photo was never installed or blocked and removed with military grade file shredder yet still shows up in protection history. I thought I was downloading a driver not a spyware utility. I have tried to remove it from protection history using instructions for windows 10 both from command-line and the GUI. It is annoying seeing a notification for a package that doesn't exist.

    Did not work for me. After going through all steps I still have protection history full

    Protection History Question

    Question on Protection History. See screenshot.
    On Protection History, how do I delete only the 2 items for Severe listings? In the past, I seem to remember deleting entries like this in the Protection History page with 1 or 2 clicks. However, I don’t see that delete option now.

    Clearing Windows Defender history

    Hey, what you need to do is so simple, just follow the steps below exactly in order:
    1. Turn OFF Real-time Protection
    2. Turn OFF Cloud-delivered Protection
    3. Go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service
    4. Delete the contents in the folder
    5. Turn ON Real-time Protection
    6. Turn ON Cloud-delivered Protection
    That's it... Now check protection History, it's empty.
