Windows 10: Proxy Settings disappeared from Windows Network Settings

I've been asked to change proxy settings on my laptop, but the configuration window seems to have disappeared from the settings screens.Even searching "proxy" from the start menu does not bring me to the proxy settings.I tried to:- follow the instructions here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/wndows-10-proxy-settings-not-accessible-through/8749e5d5-e6a2-45a2-8ba0-1b1cf47fd3a9 - update all the drivers- follow the instructions here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1185209/why-is-the-proxy-section-not-visible-in-my-network - logging with an admini

Windows could not automatically detect this network’s proxy settings

Hi - Just so you know, I'm marking this "problem solved". I found this online How to Solve the Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings Error. Doing the last step under #2 is what solved the problem. McAvee is still scanning incoming. McAvee & Malwarebytes still show no problems with a full scan. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Hi Mike,

To set up a proxy server in Windows 10, you may follow the following steps.

• Press the Windows key and I to open
  Settings.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Proxy you can either Automatically set up a proxy or
  Manual set up a proxy server.
