Windows 10: PrtScr freezes the screen

Hello. I have been using PrtScr to get screen snips since it works better than Snipping Tool for 2020.


However, after a recent update, I have noticed that when I use PrtScr, it freezes up the entire screen.


Replication:

Press PrtScr, select area to snip... then freeze.


When it unfreezes combination of pressing multiple keys, Task Manager, etc., it snipped the entire screen and not just the area.

Please help. The workaround for this is very tedious. I would like to avoid going back to Snipping Tool.

Thanks for your reply. I've tested my keyboard and its working fine. I can capture the entire screen with PrtScr key. But, Alt+PrtScr function is not working.

Original Title: Cannot capture screen using Alt+PrtScr

I'm using Windows 10 OS. Previously I was able to capture screen using
Alt+PrtScr. But now its not working. Still I can capture using PtrScr key. What's the problem with Alt+PrtScr?
How can I resolve it?

 

Screen Freezing up

Andre, thanks for your suggestions. I performed all steps as you listed and it appears that there were

some problems that have been corrected. I will let you know in a day or so if the "freeze" problem

occurs again. Many thanks for your help --- this took longer than I expected!
