  1. PS2 keyboard not recognised by a new Win 11 Pro machine - a solution

Morning all I posted a question Oct 28th 2022 and have found a solution. It worked for me That thread is now locked so I've posted this FYI . I had a look at the existing drivers. All the files in the cab were there with later dates so I didn't change them. I had another look on the web and found this ... https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=ps2+keyboard+not+showing+in+device+manager#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:77aca642,vid:rJzGaBozgi0 The problem he described didn't exactly match mine but I followed the procedure he suggested and option 2 worked. around 1:22 and 3;45.

    :)

  2. PS2 keyboard not recognised by a new Win 11 Pro machine

    Hello

I recently bought a new pc and installed Win 11 Pro.

    Ver. 22H2, Build 22621.755,with experience pack 1000.22636.1000.0

I would like to connect a PS2 keyboard, but it is not recognised by the new hardware. The keyboard works fine on the previous PC which is Win 10.

In device manager, there is no PS2 driver shown. There are three HID KB devices shown.

I have chaged the Dword value in ..

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \i8042prt \ start

to 1 but the keyboard is still not recognised.

Any suggestions to solve this problem?

    TIA

  3. PS2 keyboard not recognised by a new Win 11 Pro machine

Hello Jose thanks for the reply

The new motherboard is made by MSI, which I cant find on their support site.

The keyboard is an old Microsoft model which I can't find on their site.

The old keyboard works perfecly on a Win 10 machine which shows a standard PS2 driver in Device manager.

However, it is dated 21st of june 2006.

PS2 keyboard not recognised by a new Win 11 Pro machine

    Thanks for the reply Palcouk

I bought the new machine without an OS and installed a licensed copy.

I have a dvd disk from AMD, but haven't used it. Any driver updates were downloaded via microsoft.

There are 13 updates shown from AMD in the update history.

I've just checked in Device Manager and there are no warning anywhere.

    Regards
