Windows 10: PSA: Microsoft removed features on Windows 10 2004 - Cortana no longer can control music or...

Before windows 10 2004, i could tell cortana to

• play local and spotify music. Playlist, album, etc all are okay
• control any media (local music, local video, spotify music, etc) that use windows media control API (the pop up on top left screen when you increase/decrease volume, where you can click play, pause, next)

after windows 10 2004 cortana no longer able to use that windows media control API.

Cortana can't control music.

This resolution is not for the Cortana app that comes with Windows 10 2004 (19041.388)

1. Open Cortana.
2. Select Notebook , then Music. - Does not exist in the new Cortana...
3. Choose Spotify, and enter your account information. Or, create an account. - This step does not help without previous step.

There are no additional settings that indicate Notebook nor music.

There also are no additional options for Music anywhere within settings:

Cortana has been dumbed down and commonly used features are now gone. Please tell me that you are not going to suggest using Google Home or Amazon Alexa now! lol

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
