    HiI have a licensed Microsoft account, and one of my new users are trying to install Psqlodbc driver on a computer previously used by someone else. Before the install happens it is asking for administration login. He has tried his login details, as well as the main login for the Microsoft account but it will not work. He is able to login and access all the Microsoft apps with his login details but he cant seem to allow any changes to be made to his computer. We have not experienced this with any of our other users. He has restarted the computer but still not luck. Do you have any adv

    Thank you for keeping us posted.

    At this point, I suggest you to check if the user account you are logged into is an administrator account or not. If not, I suggest you to login to the computer
    Administrator account.

    Secondly, I suggest you to check if there are any other user account in your computer with admin privileges.

    To do so, open Advanced User Accounts Control Panel to check all the user accounts created in the computer. Please follow the below steps.

    • Press the Windows key and R from the keyboard to open the Run Command Dialog Box.
    • Enter netplwiz

  3. Becoming the administrator on my own computer

    Hi Joan,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

    I suggest you to enable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

    • Right click in the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the below command:
    Net user administrator active:yes

    3. Restart the computer and login to the built-in Administrator account.

    4. Delete the account which is not required and make the required account as Administrator.

    5. Sign-out from the built-in administrator account and login to the other account which is made as the Administrator and check for status.

    After creating a new Administrator account, disable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

    • Right click in the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the below command:
    Net user administrator active:no

    Graphics driver "requires further installation."

    I understand the inconvenience that you are facing, I will be glad to you help you.

    The issue could be if the drivers are either not updated or get corrupted. So, I would suggest you to update the display drivers and see if it helps you to fix the issue.

    Method 1: Update display adapter driver.

    Step 1: Check for the latest driver update through Windows Updates.


    • At the Start screen, type
      Windows Update
      .

    • Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select
      Install optional updates from the left results.

    • When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.

      Incompatible or not properly installed graphics card drivers are the most common cause of this issue.
    Step 2: Follow the steps below to update the graphics/display drivers.

    • Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
    • Go to device manager.
    • Right-click your display device.
    • Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
    • Restart the computer and check.
