Windows 10: PSU SATA Cable only (2) | 3 HDD

Hi! Good day! I'm wondering how to use my 3RD HDD. My Generic PSU has only 2 SATA Power Cable. What should I do to be able to use the 3RD one? Is there an extension cables, splitter, etc.?

Storagespace, want to change SATA Controller for Devices

i've running a parity storage pool of 3 x 4TB Sata HDD's on two different 2 Port SATA Controller.

1. Could i switch thoose drives without loose of data to an other 4 Port SATA Controller?

For example:

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 1 Port 1

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 2 Port 0

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 2 Port 1

Swtiched to...

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 3 Port 0

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 3 Port 1

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 3 Port 2

2. What happens when i switch the assignment between the Controllers and the HDDs?

For example:

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 1 Port 1

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 2 Port 0

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 2 Port 1

Switched to...

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 2 Port 1

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 1 Port 1

1 x 3 x TB HDD on SATA Controller 2 Port 0

Please help me to figure out what happens in the two szenario's. I won't test this on my livesystem and there is no testsystem given.

Random BSODs on Windows 10.

Problem was solved.

Found 3 issues:

1) My windows iso was corrupted.

2) Had issue with CPU, replaced.

3) Had issue with HDD sata cable.

If you have extra molex connectors from the PSU then you can also use 6inch SATA Serial ATA Splitter Power Cable(1 X 5.25 to Two (2) 15pin SATA Power Connector) - Monoprice.com

What is the wattage of the PSU? One that only has 2 SATA power connectors implies a very small (or very old) unit.

 

Ya I wouldn`t go hooking up anything else to it that way.

Start looking for a better PSU.
