Windows 10: purchased OS windows 11 home activation key is not being accepted

Purchased windows 11 home edition today from best buys it will not accept the activation key supplied with the OS purchased

There is no difference between the OEM disc and the Retail disc with Windows 7. A retail disc will accept a OEM or Retail key, and vise versa.

If the OEM Key wasn't going to work with the disc you have, it would have stopped you during the install when it first asked you for the key, not during activation.

What is likely the problem is that, since the OEM version has already been activated once, it is failing activation again. Activate it over the phone using the option given to you on the failed activation screen, and you shouldn't have a problem activating it.

 

Windows 10 asking for Activation - purchased but won't accept Activiation Key

Over a year ago purchased a computer. Windows 10 and Office Professional Plus 2016 installed.

Now being asked to Activate Windows 10 and also Office.

Purchased Windows 10 from Microsoft Store, installed but won't accept product key.

Comes up with code 0xC004F074.

Yet to attempt Office activation.

Should I attempt to reinstall Windows 10 again?

Any help greatly appreciated

 

I purchased a key for Windows 11 Pro and updated the system from windows 11 home to windows 11 pro but my system still says my OS is windows 11 home.

I need windows 11 pro for some software and I purchased an activation key from the Microsoft website. I then used the activation key to update my OS from windows 11 home to windows 11 pro. My computer installed the updates and restarted several times but the system information still says that the OS is windows 11 home. My Microsoft account also says my OS is still windows 11 home.
