Windows 10: qttabbar, how to disable the hotkey numpad . (dot, the delete key) to prevent loading media?

the software is great but I use numpad extremely often and in junction with listary which often I'd need to type . first for extension files search, or using that . to delete files

Qttabbar loads media instead using that hotkey, if an image, audio or video file is selected pressing the . on numpad prevents delete or searching via listary.

the customized hotkey section of Qttabbar doesn't have this option, any ideas?

What recognizes the Shift key as a trigger to disable numpad? This is not a normal Windows setting.

Argh, took me forever to figure out what was causing this. I use displayfusion and have the prevent deactivation function bound to the insert key. Worked wel enough for years now.

The problem begins when I try to use my razer naga mouse in games and bind key combinations. The 10 key on the mouse corresponds to numpad 0.

I need to be able to bind shift+that key. Every time I pressed shift+that key it would toggle the "prevent deactivation" in displayfusion and I couldnt figure it out. I thought it was some kind of default shortcut in displayfusion or something.

Turns out, holding down shift disables numpad. In doing so it reverts the mouse 10 key from numpad0 to its non numpad state which is (you guessed it) insert.

I believe via my convoluted research a means exists to modify this behavior via registry but thats well above my paygrade.

Anyone know what key needs to be deleted or modified?

 

Numpad lock getting disabled all the time

I am so pissed and annoyed with the behavior of my HP notebook. This model doesn't have an LED to indicate if the Numpad is activated or not. It's extremely frustrating how often it's getting disabled at start-up, it's
hell.

I know there is a setting in the BIOS, it's set so the Numpad is activated upon start (I might have to doublecheck it though, just in case). Windows 10 also has registry keys to set Numpad to active on start-up, I set
all these keys (current user, etc.) to "80000002", which means Numpad active.

And yet, time and time again the pest goes back to being deactivated.

I also set a vbscript that runs on start-up and sets the status of Numpad to active. None of this is working!!

At times it works, but it's not consistent. It's most definitely a Windows issue.

I just noticed that some start-up program or setting is disabling the Numpad on start-up. I noticed this when as soon as the computer started, before it had loaded everything, I opened Notepad and tested
the Numpad, it was working. Then after Windows loaded a few more things, it disabled the Numpad.

Any ideas what could fix this? I'm so frustrated with this notebook, it's hell.
