Windows 10: Quad display issues

I have 4 displays set up in the following way.I am having 2 issues.1 On display #1 I have selected the checkbox "make this my main display". However even with that selected display #3 seems to be acting as the main display. The taskbar shows up on display #3, and new windows typically open on display #3. How do I get the taskbar and new windows to open on display #1 instead?2 When new windows open, they very very often open half way off one of the screens where I cannot reach the title bar. The only way I can get the window back onto the screen is to resize it from the bottom, which for

QUAD SLI GTX590 issues/question

Just to point this out as someone who was planning on getting a Quad-SLI setup, that PSU could potentially be a problem for Quad-SLI as all of the PSU's listed by Nvidia for use in that setup are 1100-1500w and if your system isn't able to draw enough power to run both of the cards at full throttle that would cause a significant bottleneck as well as that of the processor.

Step 1: Overclock that processor as much as possible.
Step 2: If performance is not where you want it after Step 1 look into a potential PSU issue.
Step 3: If your power supply is not the issue perhaps look into downgrading your cards to something like SLI GTX 580's 3 GB extreme edition or Crossfire 6970 Lightning editions since either of those cards have significant overclocking potential and would likely scale better in SLI/CF than a Quad-SLI setup.

What kind of quad.

I suspect you are at "the edge" of the power rating for the mainboard. Perhaps Q6600 wasnt listed due to TWO versions, C3 stepping at 105W and G0 stepping at 95W. Furthermore, if you OC the G0 Q6600 then it will use more than 95W. Since Q9300 is on a 1333 buss, then perhaps the BIOS doesnt give you scope to OC it, keeping it well withing the 95W envelope.

My suggestion is, if the mainboard is important to you and you dont want to blow the power regulators or caps, to NOT OC the Q6600. Take the thing out of design spec (by OC'ing it) and you may very well rapidly reduce the half-life of your board.

Also, as erocker suggests, there are 65W quads out now. I think those are better suited to this mainboard.

What exactly happens when you shut down the computer?



I would suggest you to try the following steps and check:

Step 1: Update the Display driver. Please follow the steps given below to update the display driver.

• Click Start and go to Run.
• In the Run prompt, type devmgmt.msc and then click
  OK.
• Device Manager will open.
• In Device Manager expand Display adapters.
• Right-click the display driver and click Update Driver Software.
• Select Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.

Step 2: Check if there are any updates for display drivers available in Optional Updates; this might fix the issue. Refer to the following steps.

• At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
• Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results.
• When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.

Step 3: If the issue persists, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Display driver. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the display driver.

• Open Device Manager.
• Expand Display adapters.
• Right-click the display card driver and click
  Uninstall.
• Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.
• After the un-installation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible.

Computer will load the generic display drivers. Now, please go to the manufacturer’s website, download and install the compatible display card drivers for your computer and check.
