Windows 10: Qualcomm Wireless Adapter Replacement

I have a Dell Inspiron 3580. It has the Qualcomm QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Adapter. HardwareID: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0042&SUBSYS_18101028&REV_31. Running Win10 Pro 64-bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042.804

Is there somewhere, anywhere....that tells you compatible hardware for laptops? Didn't know if there is a "place" or is it just searching individual mfg's...who even online don't really have compatibility tools. I want something better than Qualcomm. Seems like nothing but trouble and reviews confirm others issues. If anyone has any recommendations/thoughts...I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter vs. Qualcomm Atheros Wireless Network Adapter

Just bought a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (v2) to cast a new Win 10 Pro pc to my tv. Adapter connection looks good on the tv, but when I click Connect on my pc, the adapter isn't found. The pc is wireless on my network and has a Qualcomm Atheros
QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter. To test the Microsoft adapter, I tried an Android phone, Android tablet, and a Surface Pro 2. All three of those devices connect instantly to the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter and work as expected, so my assumption
is that the problem resides with the Qualcomm adapter (or an issue between Microsoft and Qualcomm). I'm pursuing tech support options through Qualcomm and ASUS (motherboard), but hoping the Community might be able to help.

I have carried out the process that you have described, however I carry this process out on a weekly basis as the fault comes up that the
Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless adapter is not recognised.

I have updated the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless adapter (microsoft)

Is there anything else that I should be updating?

Disappearing wireless adapter

Method 1:

Run the hardware troubleshooter and check the issue status.

Follow the steps:

1. Type “Troubleshooter” in the Search box and hit enter.

2. Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.

3. Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.

4. Follow the On Screen instructions.

Method 2:

Update the Wireless Adapter drivers.

Type “Windows Update” in Search box and select “Check for Updates” to receive a fresh list of updates.

Try downloading and install the latest drivers for your Wireless Adapter from Windows
CompatibilityCentre link below.
