    I have a few laptops in my care of various manufacturers and various wi-fi cards, all having the same issue after the Quality update KB5034763Mobile phones are able to connect to the wi-fi router infrastructure without issue.Windows laptops after they lose their IP lease, they no longer seem to be able to connect to the internet.Things I have tried:Ipconfig /renewGives Error message "The name specified in the network control block NCB is in use on a remote adapter.The NCB is the data.been down the rabbit hole of the numerous "fixes" for this with no winnerUpdate wi-fi drivers where possibl

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.



    I suggest you to follow the steps listed below and check if it works:



    1. Right click on the Windows icon on the taskbar and select ‘Device Manager’.
    2. Expand ‘Network adapters’ and right click on your Wi-Fi adapter.
    3. Select ‘Properties’ and click on the ‘Power Management’ tab.
    4. Uncheck the box that says ‘Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power’.
    5. Exit ‘Device Manager’ and check if it works.

    I suggest you to run the in-built troubleshooter for Internet connections.

    • Open 'Settings' and click on 'Update and security'.
    • On the left pane, select 'Troubleshoot' and run the troubleshooter for 'Internet Connections'.

    I would suggest you to follow the methods below:

    Method 1: Run the Hardware and Device troubleshooter by following the steps below:

    • Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
    • Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and sound”.
    • Under Hardware and sound, click on “hardware and devices”.
    • A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.


    Method 2: The issue may occur if the drivers for Wi-fi are not installed or updated. I suggest you to install/update the latest version for Wi-fi drivers by following the steps below.

    • Press ‘windows key + R’ and type ‘devmgmt.msc’ and press Enter.
    • Expand ‘Network adapter’ and right click on Wi-fi driver and select update.
