    Question about Intel RST 18.x supported chipsets


    The Intel Driver & Support Assistant is sometimes unreliable when it comes to checking for updates for my device. Hence me asking this question here. I have a Gigabyte Z370 HD3 motherboard along with a Neo Forza Zion NFS01 (no nvme). Intel Rapid Storage Driver has started a new driver installer series with its application being downloaded from the Microsoft Store instead, starting from driver version 18.1.3.1036 found here. The Readme.txt of this version does not show support for my Z370 chipset. Does this mean that the only latest supported driver for this chipset is the legacy Intel RST 16.8.3.1003 found here? Any RST driver version 18.x would not be compatible with my Z370 chipset?     I have a Gigabyte Z370 HD3 motherboard along with a Neo Forza Zion NFS01 (no nvme).

    Intel RST Install Error: Platfrom not supported


    Intel RST Drivers up to v11.2.0.1006 are for Southbridge AHCI/RAID systems from ICH7R/M up to 7-Series Chipsets, except X79.

    RST Drivers from v11.5 up (the latest is v14.6.0.1029) are designed for newer Intel chipsets 7-Series up (from v13.2 only 8-Series and later are supported), X79 not supported

    RSTe drivers v3.x/v4.x for Intel C600/C600+ Series Chipsets like X79 and X99

    Intel RST Driver Question

    I've never been able to find an explanation...closest think was win-raid.com. My desktop has a Z270 chipset and my new Dell XPS 15 9500 has a mobile 400-series chipset. Right now I'm running Intel RST driver version 18.30.3.1148 on both. Based on what I read the 400-series chipset is a good fit for the 18.x series of drivers. While it installs and seems to work well on the older Z270 chipset, am I losing out on anything by not using older 16 or 17 series drivers? Intel has an outdated explanation for graphics drivers but doesn't post anything about other drivers...RST, chipset, wifi/PROSET, etc. Just curious.
