    I installed Win 10 Home which is build 10240. After installing some updates, it's still showing v. 10240 while Microsoft has released build 10565. Do I have to do a re-install to get the latest fixes and features?

    The telemetry your computer sends to Microsoft tells them what updates your computer needs. Not to worry.

    Question about updates

    The 10565 build is a Windows Insider build and not simply a collection of updates. You first need to sign up for the Insider program in order to be able to download the latest Insider build as a developer project not being the ready for public version you have on now. These builds are best left for the advanced users as they are still more or less in above beta but not RTM stages suitable for most. Feedback is submitted by those who run to test each newer build.
