  1. Question: How do I get MY computer to realize that I am the administrator?

I bought this computer outright back in 2011. It does require certain updates obviously since I haven't had it online in a while but it keeps telling me I must have administrative privileges for that. It does this when I try to play certain games or install programs/apps. How do I get it to realize that I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR. I should be able to do whatever I want without going through this all the time. Not understanding this or why or how this was changed since I was able to update it before. Any assistance on how to fix this would be appreciated!

    :)

  2. Becoming the administrator on my own computer

    Hi Joan,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

I suggest you to enable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

    • Right click in the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the below command:
    Net user administrator active:yes

    3. Restart the computer and login to the built-in Administrator account.

    4. Delete the account which is not required and make the required account as Administrator.

    5. Sign-out from the built-in administrator account and login to the other account which is made as the Administrator and check for status.

After creating a new Administrator account, disable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

    • Right click in the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the below command:
    Net user administrator active:no

Hope the information is helpful. Feel free to write to us for any other assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.

Question: How do I get MY computer to realize that I am the administrator?

    Administrative rights on network computers?

nDisplay is a [major] component within an nDisplay rendering network. I think you'll only get to grips with nDisplay if you first study the whole thing.

If, in the future, you ask any more questions about this topic I urge you to include nDisplay in the title of your question. For all any of us know, there is an nDisplay expert looking through the list of questions right now but not joining in this thread because there is nothing in its title to suggest what it's about.
    - You cannot change titles later on. If you edit the question later, its entry in the list of questions stays the same.

You can, if you want, try the common Admin account [with common username & common password] I mentioned before
    - there was nothing in the nDisplay webpages I read that made me think it would be successful, but
    - it would not do any harm.

    All the best,
    Denis
