Windows 10: [Question] how to disable touch, but keep power on/external touch display

Hi !



I just try to connect a waveshare 7" LCD display to my PC (for power- issue-testing purposes only)

wich is connected via hdmi to my raspberry. Normally i use the usb power of the raspi, but i like to test if the screen is flickering when dimming the light via pwm control, comes from the rasbian usb power.

So, i connected the display via usb to my pc, but then it acts like an touchdisplay for windows 10 and all functions from the raspian are gone (PWM dim via tkinter gui "scale").

How can i connect this display to windows 10 without beeing used as touch input, just in mode "power only" ? i try to deactivate it in hardware manager, but that does not stopped it from beein used as touch input.

touch is not disabling

• From where exactly ae you trying to disable the touchscreen?
• Have you installed all pending Windows updates?

Follow the steps given below and check if you are able to disable it:

1. Press Windows Key +X from your keyboard.

2. Select Device manager and open it.

3. Then, right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and from the list of options displayed, select ‘Disable’

4. Instantly, a confirmation pop-up will appear on your device screen, requesting you to confirm the decision.
Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. Do you really want to disable it? Click ‘Yes.’

Touch screen is disabled

Thank you for responding.

This issue might be due to drivers which are to be updated.



I suggest you to update the drivers for touch feature in Device Manager:

Steps:

• Right click on Windows key from the desktop and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand Human Interface Devices, right click on the
  Touch screen driver and select Update Driver Software.

Also, I suggest you to contact the device manufacturer website and try to update the chipset drivers as well.
