Windows 10: Question: How to use specific audio input from client in RDP

For work I RDP into my company issued laptop (so I can use my multi-montior desktop setup). Audio redirection works great, but I want to use RTX Voice as the audio input so that when I join a web meeting it would not use my hot mic and require constant muting. Is there any way to setup RDP to use a specific audio input from my local PC instead of what I have set as Default?

No audio input picked up in RDP session (win10)

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that it could be frustrating that the PC’s audio input is not being picked up by the remote machine. You could check with the steps below and see if it works for you.

1. Press the ‘Windows’ key and ‘R’ key, this will open the run dialogue box.
   
2. Type in ‘RDP’ and press enter, this will open a window for the ‘Remote Desktop Connection’.
   
3. Click on ‘More options’.
   
4. Click on ‘Local Resources’ tab, under 'Remote audio', click on ‘Settings’.
   
5. This will open a small window, under ‘Remote audio playback’, select the ‘Play on remote computer’ and click on ‘Ok’.

As the issue is related to the ‘Remote Desktop’, if the issue persists, it would require more troubleshooting and it is more appropriate to be posted in IT Pro ‘TechNet’
forums, where we have support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge on issues with RDP.

Damaged hardware or incompatible driver are some of the possible causes why you are experiencing an issue the audio input on your device. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

• Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
• Are you using an external audio input device? If yes, what is the make and model of the audio input device you are using as microphone?
  
• Have you made any changes to your computer settings before this issue happened?

I haven seen a good or bad, free or commercial RDP client for S60.

Would an SSH client do?

PuTTY for Symbian OS
