Restoring drive images and disk cloning after the free windos10 upgrade

I have some speculations on the reactivation of the windows 10 upgrade making machines not genuine and would like

more information on what or how many changes within what time frame would trigger this

Just recently installed win8 pro then upgraded to 8.1pro but do to some hard drive issues it was necessary to clone

the operating system to a new drive.

The computer started but was informed that windows was not activated, the hard drive was the only change made to the

    system except for driver updates.

My question is will cloning hard drives or moving the operating system to a new drive make the key invalid and how many reactivations will be given with the free upgrade (same as retail).

I would also like conformation that oem win7 win 8 win 8.1 upgrade to win 10 will stay within the oem parameters with

only a motherboard change making the key invalid.

  3. System volumn infomation won't stop growing

I amazed myself, for five days been trying to solve this problem and within minutes of posting this post found the answer myself! Wow! Jumping up and down here for joy!

    OK

    Control panel

    then Recovery

    then Configure System Restore

    then check max usage....

mine was set on the entire hard drive. (Never touched this so maybe windows 10 default)

Drag it down to a reasonable figure. (I did it it to zero at first and restarted just to see if it would clear the folder out....it did). So now it is set to 10%, which, funny enough is 21.4 GB, but at least I know it won't keep going up and up now.

    Ensure system protection is on.

Apply and hopefully a system that doesn't grow and grow and grow.

Question: Move Up Or Down Hard Drives within System Protection

Cleaning Up Entire C: Drive and Backing It Up as an Image for quick restore, and then formatted the entire C: Drive Section and Restored the saved image worked and all good now, C: Drive is now the number 01 Drive and D: Drive is number 02 *Smile

What would be the purpose in changing the order? It isn't of any real significance anyway.

My big trigger is burned out light bulbs and light bulbs that aren't the same "color" as each other, like bright white, soft white, etc. And deployed, an aircraft carrier as about a million fluorescent tubes with 10% of them flashing at any one time! My wife wondered how I kept my sanity.

Mine has to be, interior painting cutting in the ceiling to a wall ( if that isn't perfectly straight line I get bothered) or the collection of fine dust within a motherboard around or in the cpu cooling fan grills and also within the video card and power supply unit I like to take everything apart and vacume and use canned air to remove this dust if I know there is a spec of dust it sends me off and my tools have to be extremely clean I use wd40 and clean cotton shop rags to wipe each and everyone of many tools that I own, thanks for your share.

I wife has the same habits like mine and we are a perfect match thank God
