Windows 10: Question of dealing with my problem of my Camera turning itself on whenever a video is...

Long time user of Windows 10. Sorry if my grammar is bad, English isn't my first language, and I'm just not very good at speaking it in general, Lol!

Starting since the Spring of 2020 my camera would turn itself on when a video plays/auto-plays in YouTube, Reddit, discord, etc. This occurred on and off for about 3ish days every 3-4 weeks for some reason. Recently it has lasted its longest(a week currently!) and has been very annoying whenever I'm relaxing after class(I'm a freshman in college, USA).I downloaded a couple of trusted applications to scan for malware (I followed along on this guide a user in r/techsupport made: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsuppor...ested_reading_official_malware_removal_guide/).Even though no issues were reported, the problem still happens whenever I'm watching a video/episode on any streaming service I have.I looked into it a while ago over the summer and I remembered some windows 10 user on the forums page answering a question to a user who had a similar issue a few years ago if I can remember.(this was early on in Spring or Summer, I can't recall very well. I'd link it here if I could, but I don't have it saved anywhere.)They said something along the lines of how the auto-capture mode in the game bar sub-folder in the settings was configured, it would activate whenever any application it sees as a game runs. It somehow did this with the options set to off, against all odds. I did the whole turn it off and on again schpiel with the options and did the same with my computer by shutting it down and turning it back on again. Even after all that, it's still been happening!

It's made me genuinely paranoid of my privacy being invaded. I know this footage is probably instantly deleted, or saved in some file that I'll never open, but I also think of the possibility of it being sent to some hacker like some horror stories I've read in the past. And like I said, I've run the malware detection and removal programs, and nothing's there! There's only the green light, next to the camera, staring into my s o u l . I've taken to covering it with a post-it and paper to have some semblance of privacy, yet the light still finds ways to bleed through. I've hit a dead end in solving this. If any of you Redditors out there know how to fix this, PLEASE let me know! It's been one of the only irritating experiences since I've started online classes, and I'd really like to solve it before it inevitably drives me insane. Leave a comment if you can, if you've ever fixed issues like this in the past. I'm anxious to get this out of the way ASAP!

cannot upload camera or camcorder pics & videos

I understand that you’re unable to import photos and videos after upgrading to Windows 10.

This could be due to incorrect Auto play settings. I suggest you to follow the steps as shown below and check if it helps.

• Plug in the Camera.
• Go to Start and type AutoPlay Settings.
• Choose AutoPlay Settings.
• Under your Camera Device, choose the option "Import Photos and Videos."
• Exit Auto Play Settings and check if the issue persists.

My "hello camera" won't turn on so the signing on by face recognition doesn't work. It just sits on "turning on camera" forever.

in step four I get the same "turning on camera" message , but the camera does not turn on.

The camera app does work though. it turns on the camera and takes photos and video.

This was working fine since I got the surface book. just stopped working an will not turn on the camera to retrain hello's face recognition.

please re-read the original question and anwer it.

You can try these steps and see if it will make any difference:

• Power cycle

1. Turn off the phone then remove the back cover and the battery.

2. Reinsert the battery and the back cover then turn on your phone.

• Reset your camera settings

1. Go to Settings.

2. Swipe to Application settings.

3. Choose Photos+camera.

4. Select Reset camera.
