Windows 10: [Question] Two drivers stopped working after v2004 update

Hey guys

So today, I decided to downloaded v2004 update and install it. After the update, I opened device manager and noticed that two "USB Host Controller" drivers had a warning sign near their logos. The warning for both was something like this:

"Please reinstall the driver..."

And so I let Windows itself install the drivers, and both were installed without any problem. After that, their names were changed to these:

"Intel(R) C610 series/X99 chipset USB Enhanced Host Controller #1 - 8D26"
"Intel(R) C610 series/X99 chipset USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 - 8D2D"


1- Now, I justed wanted to know is it possible to check if there is nothing wrong with other drivers too? Because this was never happened before after an update!
2- And another question, was it safe to update the drivers by device manager finding them online? Can it cause BSOD or driver crash?

Acer web cam stopped working after windows 10 V2004 update

My Acer 515-54 integrated web cam stopped working after I installed the windows 10 V2004 update. Device status says "This device is working properly". However, using the Microsoft camera app, the screen is blank, despite the message "Camera is on" being
displayed. I have tried numerous troubleshooting routines including disabling and then reenabling the driver, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, resetting, all with no success. The driver being used is from 2006, but is the latest Acer driver available.
Acer support was of no help, and feels there may be a conflict between windows 10 V2004 and the driver. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

 

After I installed the updates KB3176936, KB3176934, and KB3176495, the audio stopped working

I'm facing a problem after I installed the updates KB3176936, KB3176934, and KB3176495, the audio stopped working.

I contact Dell's support and together we tried to:

• Update the driver
• Reinstall the driver
• Uninstall the driver to use windows suggested drivers.
• Remove the drivers to use the microsoft drivers.
• Run sfc
• Run Dell Assist Tools
• Run Driver updates tools
• Uninstalled the Windows updates.

None fixed the problem.

During the RCA I restored my computer 3 times and the issue is not on the sound card, since when I restore the system it works.

I'd like to know what would be the next steps.

Is Microsft release a patch for the update that is breaking the audio?

 

Update to Windows 10 v2004 Breaks Intel High Definition Audio Driver

What other steps do you have?

I have the exact same issue on an HP Spectre x360 Convertible running Win 10 v2004. The Intel High Definition Audio device can't find a driver. It now appears under "Other Devices" in Device Manager.

Does this problem require new drivers written for v2004? Or, is there a solution within the Windows OS?

After the version update, my laptop became very unstable. The mouse cursor behaved as if the system was infected with a very malicious virus. I was able to stabilize the system or resolve the erratic mouse cursor by disabling all the drivers for the Touch
Pad, Touch Screen and Pen. I'm using an HP Spectre wireless mouse.

HP Support had me uninstall the four drivers under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" and allow the system, Windows Update, and HP Update reinstall the drivers Only two drivers were reinstalled and the Intel High Definition Audio device appears under "Other
Devices" without a driver.

Eventually, the third device and driver reappeared, but not the Intel High Definition Audio device driver.

HP Support hasn't released new drivers for v2004 and they refuse to give any anticipated driver release dates.

Does Microsoft have a solution for these v2004 related conflicts?
