Windows 10: Question Windows 10 PC fails to work properly after a gaming session or prolonged use

Hello everyone. Thank you for taking your time to help me. I have been having a weird issue with my PC for the past couple days. After a 45 minute to 1 hour gaming session, my Steam tab turns unresponsive, my internet browser, my discord fails to load any pictures or videos, and my computer becomes slower than usual.

Searching anything on my computer doesn't work. Task manager doesn't end the task for the programs when I tell it to. Sometimes my browser just randomly stops responding during a video. My only solution to this problem is to restart my PC. Usually restarting my PC works normally, but with this new issue it fails to restart, having me to manually turn off my PC with the power button.

Any help is appreciated. If you need more of a description on whats happening please let me know. Also I should add that when restarting my computer, Program Manager prevents it from shutting down. Force shutting it down doesn't work and it hangs at the restarting screen, bringing me to manually shut it down.

My specs:

GTX 1660 Ti AERO 6 GB

16 GB DDR4 ram

1 WD blue HDD

1 samsung SSD

Windows 10 Home

i7 9700 3GHZ

Temps are normal and don't fluctuate when under load and idle.

Metro 2033 fails to work on windows 10!

I don't recall you mentioning any trouble shooting steps attempted though. At the very least, doing a quick search and checking threads like this very well may have solved it for you. It's listed as compatible on MS' list of games that work with W10 for a reason, because many if not most are able to get it running on W10. At least some level of workaround may be required, but some got it running without doing anything.

Windows 10 won't wake up from prolonged sleep (or hibernate or shutdown) conditions

Regarding your concern with Windows 10 not waking up after prolonged sleep, we suggest that you perform these steps:

• Go to Control Panel > Power options.
• Click Change plan settings for Power saver.
• Click Change advanced power settings > Restore plan defaults >
  OK.
• Restart your computer.
