    Questions about drivers that I found for my new laptop


    I just got a (new for me) used/rebuilt Gateway laptop model NV570P 18U. OS Win 10 Home 64 bit. This laptop has available a lot of drivers that I know anything about, and I would like to find out about them and if I need to install them. I just got done downloading all of them. Some of them I know, so I will only list the ones that I don't know about or need info on. BTW this laptop has a 750gb HD in it. Also I have a 500gb HD in an external USB case for file storage. And the files on the 500gb HD are backed up on DVD's.

    HD controler: I know about. But do I need to install it? I have control over both HD's

    IME: I know nothing about it. This is the 1st time that I have heard about an IME.

    Mouse/touchpad driver: The touch pad and the external wireless mouse work fine without it.

    Radio Controler: I can't find anything online as to what this thing is about.

    Synaptics SMBus: I have no clue as to what this is.

    USB drivers: All 3 of the USB ports are working fine. What is the need for the driver?

    I think that covers it all

    Laptop driver/reformat question

    This is excellent advice. Writing down the list of installed devices prior to re-formatting will save you a lot of heartache. With that list, you won't have to try to figure out exactly which wireless card or web cam driver you need since there will likely be several to choose from.

    New here and seeking for help: problems with graphic card

    Thanks very much lilhasselhoffer. I'll start doing what you suggested step by step.

    One question thou: you suggested me to Download the latest driver package from Nvidea. However, the link you posted is for the newly released GeForce GTX 760? Am I supposed to download the drivers for that card?

    Sorry for my questions. As I said, I'm not an expert at all.
