Windows 10: Questions about formatting Windows

Hey guys, I have a few questions and Google gives me different answers. I am trying to factory reset my PC because I gifted it to my wife and it seems to be having some problems so we wanted to reset it completely.

1. 
   I did a full reinstall of Windows which cleaned one of my drives, and told me to format it which would reset it's contents. The old wallpaper and some things installed on the drive where windows was remains intact however. Is that good enough for a factory reset?
   
   
2. 
   When going to factory reset through Windows 10, there's an option that says that it hard cleans the disk and makes it difficult to recover items, or the other option that claims its less "secure". What does that mean and is it necessary?

   I have been resetting the computer (with the hard reset option enabled) for a couple of hours now (around 3) and it's been stuck at 5% ever since. This is the second time it gets stuck at this percentage before I went and did the Windows installation. I am willing to let it sit for a long time if that's what necessary but don't want to waste my time if this is abnormal.
   
   
4. 
   I'm not sure if my windows is pirated, granted I had someone set up this PC for me 3ish years ago and I don't know what they did in the long run here. Would that affect anything?

How To Format A Write Protected Flash Memory ?

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Windows Format Configuration (time)

I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps you to change the time format.

• Press Windows key + X key, clicking Control Panel, clicking
  Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking
  Region.
  
• Click the Formats tab, and then, in the
  Format list, select the Match Windows display language (recommended)
  under Format.
• Check if the h: mm: tt is available under Short time and
  Long time format.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
