    Hello,

I'm retired now in my 60s but I've been on my PCs & Laptops over the years...on a daily basis since 1995 M.C.S.E in 1996.
I have almost 30 in IT Troubleshooting and Repair. So after many days of researching for an answer to my issues of theQuick Action Tiles missing in the Action Center image below. I figured I'd give the Microsoft Forum a shot.
What bothered me about some answers in the Microsoft Forum is that the alleged "consultants" answering people's questions were that they plagiarized answers from other Techs from other Websites. In other words they just copied and pasted the text from the techs associated with other websites. But I'm going to give the "benefit of the doubt" to the person that hopefully can help me fix my issue.

My Attempts to Fix the issue of missing Quick Action Tiles, in a Logical Order before I decided to post:

I ran an Elevated Command Prompt as Administrator:
Then ran the following SFC and DISM commands.
    1. sfc /scannow no issues found

    2. DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth indicated that it was successfully completed

    3. DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth indicated that it was successfully completed

    4. Rebooted & logged back in.
    5. Outcome, the Quick Action Tiles in Action Center still missing.

Next, Group Policy Editor GPE. That's right! You didn't read that wrong. I'm running Windows 10 Home and I have Group Policy Editor at my disposal.
Like I said I have almost 30 years in "Troubleshooting and Repair". From Windows 3.1 up to Windows 7. I skipped Windows 8 and jumped into 10 in 2015 and it's been a freakin nightmare since. Worst Operating System some MS Sh**Heads ever thought of.
So, I loaded Group Policy Editor gpedit.msc and everything was good in GPE.

Next, Checked the Registry. I noticed 2 Registry Keys missing. The "Explorer Key" under the "Windows Key"
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
So I made the Key and then made a DWORD string. Set the name to DisableNotificationCenter and set the correct value.

So as you can see I've tried multiple strategies.

I'll be looking forward to any assistance that can be provided.

    Best Regards,
    Stewart Grainger

Add or Remove Quick Actions in Action Center in Windows 10

    Hi,

I wonder if there is a way to turn on/off certain Quick Actions icons in the Action Center via the registry, instead of doing it manually as described above.

Before asking here I've wandered through some posts and searched the internet. I've noticed these keys:

    1/

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ActionCenter\Quick Actions\

Here's a list of names of all the Quick Actions.

    2/

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ActionCenter\Quick Actions\UnpinnedByDefault

Here's a list of names of Quick Actions that should be Unpinned by default. If I add some here (based on the names in the list described above) and reboot it doesn't seem to work.

    3/

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\ActionCenter\Quick Actions

The value PinnedQuickActionSlotCount here is set at 4, which is the amount of Quick Actions seen by default without expanding the view in the Action Center. I don't need to change this one so I haven't tried it.

    4/

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Quick Actions\Pinned

There seems to be a numbered list here of Pinned Quick Actions. The names are the same as in the list I mentioned in (1/). However if I remove some values here it also doesn't have effect (even after a reboot).

    ----

Conclusion: I haven't found a thing that actually worked. Did anyone figure this out already?

    Thanks,

Quick Action missing - Windows 10

    Hi Pranav,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand how difficult it is, when the device doesn’t work in the way it should.

You can press Windows key + A together or you can swipe inwards from the right screen border to open Action Center on a touch screen. For us to isolate the issue and to assist you better, we’d like to ask you a few questions.

    1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using?
    2. Which edition of Windows 10 are you using?

If the action center is turned off or disabled, it can’t be seen in the taskbar notification area. We can try a few steps and check if we can fix this.

Method 1: Turn on Action Center in Windows Settings.

    1. Press Windows key + R together to open
      Run.
    2. Click on Personalization >
      Taskbar
      .
    3. Click on Turn system icons on or off.
    4. Turn on Action Center.

If the issue persists, follow method 2.

Method 2: Enable Action Center in Group Policy.

The Local Group Policy editor is available only in the Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions.

    1. Press Windows key + R together to open
      Run.
    2. Type gpedit.msc and press
      Enter
      .
    3. Expand User Configuration >
      Administrative Template
      > Start Menu and Taskbar.
    4. On the right pane, look for Remove Notification and Action Center.
    5. Double click on it.
    6. If it is enabled, make it disabled.

    Restart the system and check.

If the issue persists, I’d suggest you to refer the
    answer posted by Maria Fab
    and check if it helps.

Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience.

Quick actions missing from action center

Quick actions suddenly disappeared from action center. I tried resetting windows as last resort after trying sfc, chkdsk and DISM. But still there are no quick actions in the Action Center. Action center opens normally and all notifications are displayed
after windows reset (It used to open and close automatically in a second before the reset).
