    Quick Assist is stuck on a loading icon.


    When I launch Quick Assist, it's stuck on a looping loading animation despite working fine two days ago with no changes being made. I've reinstalled it and tried it on clean boot with no luck. I can't talk to an agent as the chat fails to submit feedback.

    Good diagnostic step.

    You've tried disabling 3rd party program startups, but there could be more things starting beyond those listed in the task manager startup list, if that's what you used.

    Ideally you would have hands on access to both PCs... but that's not so. All credit to them for creating a new user account etc.

    If you wished to disable more startups on the problem account you could use Autoruns (free from MS). But that seems asking a bit much of someone else remotely.

    Of course, the problem could have nothing whatsoever to do with startups... you might want to check all services are default, for example, in particular those necessary for this.

    Presumably it's not been blocked by the firewall:

    This gives useful detail on how it works. For example, it uses port 443, so you need to check that's not blocked.

    Quick Assist fixed

    I'm posting this to share my success today fixing a Quick Assist problem that had me perplexed. I have 5 different Windows 10 systems and 2 of them load Quick Assist without a problem. But the other 3 got stuck displaying animated rotating balls on a white
    background and Quick Assist never loaded. After a lot of searching for solutions (none I found worked), and comparing a working system with one that is not, I stumbled upon the solution that fixed all 3 misbehaving systems as well as a computer belonging to
    a friend in isolation who I wanted to help, but whose Windows 10 Quick Assist app was stuck in the same way.

    Here's what I did (I have no idea why it works...):

    1. Select Run and type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter to open
      Internet Properties (or launch Internet Explorer, select the
      Tools icon in the top right corner and choose Internet options)
    2. Go to the Advanced pane and the Reset Internet Explorer settings section at the bottom.
    3. Press the "Reset..." button in that section and then confirm to reset in the next pop-up menu.

    That's all I did and Quick Assist launches without any problem or delay on all three systems that were previously not working. What's great is that it's a simple fix that I can easily explain to anyone over the phone who needs help, but is isolated due to
    COVID-19.

    I hope this works for others as well as it has for me.

    Hi Henry,

    It's possible that your computer's Internet Options is not set properly, that's why you're experiencing issues with Quick Assist. Kindly make sure that your computer is allowed to save encrypted pages by following these steps:

    • Type internet options on the search bar.
    • Click on Internet Options.
    • Click on Advanced.
    • Scroll down, and make sure that Do not save encrypted pages to disk is unchecked.
    • Click OK.

    Once done with the steps, try to use Quick Assist again, then check if the issue persists.
