    Quick Question about Windows

    Hi

Just wondering if you could pass a question onto your CEO Satya Nadella....

"Looking towards the future do you think that it is feasible to anticipate that an operating system will be developed which will actually be stable, providing functionality that will be reliable without the need to have a working knowledge of programming or be a technophobe that loves spending hours trying to find fixes after each and every upgrade that Microsoft forces users to action?

I am certain I am not the only user who has become tired of searching this community for fixes, in fact you only need to see the vast numbers of questions posed each and every week on this forum to see the numerous issues people are trying to resolve. I appreciate that many answers are offered but should basic users have to be expected, in some instances, to go into the heart of the system, the registry, and make changes to try and resolve an issue. Many people who were forced to upgrade to Windows 10, as support for older platforms was stopped, have had continuous issues would also add judging from some forum comments that this has been the case for people who have bought new computers as well and even, as I have done, installing all of the new upgrades/updates, issues to continue ad infinitum. This situation is supported through the plethora of websites that have appeared, offering solutions, sometimes programs that supposedly fix certain issues, for which, in many cases, a fee is charged.

I certainly appreciate that an operating system is highly complex but as a basic user I long for the day that I can switch on my laptop, spend hours completing all the basic tasks, running programs that I have an interest in without being confronted with this issue and that issue which suddenly have ceased to function for no reason that could be put down to the user, namely me. Most recent occurred yesterday! I have 2 accounts on my laptop, the 2nd one created to deal with a previous issue, both had administrative rights but yesterday, even though they both show up as administrator accounts I can no longer launch programs as an administrator, also none of the trouble shooters complete the tasks they are designed to do! Windows 7 was the last good experience I had that lasted.

I will leave it at that point but would be obliged if I could have an answer to the question I started this with.

Look forward to a positive response

    Regards

    Ian

    :)

Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
