I have a strange question, however, I feel that this might help me from losing my mind. Does anyone on this forum live near New Orleans (north or south shore), Louisiana?

I need some help fixing issues on my laptop.

    Thank you for your time!

    :)

    quick question

    Hi Andrew,

MSR partition is normally not shown in Disk Management and does not receive a drive letter or mount point. It is created by the operating system automatically, it contains additional space that the operating system might
    need in performing disk operations.

If you have other concerns, don;t hesitate to get back to us.

  3. quick question

So, i had to reinstall windows 10 pro on my c: drive....Reason i made a small mistake and installed it in Legacy mode..

Now i know once i delete the partition and recreate the partition before windows install i will have reserved partitions.

But a reserved partition as also been created on my d: drive.....What is this for ?

I removed all my drives and booted with only disk0 c:, windows 10 booted just fine with no problems, so now i have reinstalled all my drives.

But this reserved partition on my d: is showing up in My computer explorer....

I can assume that the partition is safe to delete as i had no problems booting windows with only disk0 c:......

Can someone confirm ? Here is a screen of disk management.

EDIT: Also if i must keep that partition intact is there a way to remove it from harddrives available In My Computer ?

Plus This is new install with correct partitions on c: I will make a full windows backup of the install with all my apps and settings in drive f:....

Soon i will buy a new SSD for the OS, Can i just remove c: drive and install new SSD c: then run recovery and use the image backup on f: to restore the system as it was on the old HDD ?

EDIT2: I have a bootable copy of win10pro on usb having this....Do i need a seperate USB recovery drive ? Or the Win10pro bootable install will have the options i need if i ever need to restore backup.

    Quick Question

    Not that I know of.
Could your issue possibly be resolved here on the forums?
If it must involve visuals, Skype may be an alternative.
You should describe your issue in more detail first.

  5. Yes...the main issue is myself. I do not know enough about the tech end of any computer. The normal everyday things, like turning it on, I am a MASTER!! LOL

Seriously though, I made a huge mistake attempting Windows Insider and now I am way over my head. I have learned many new things...however, it seems I am not going to be able to do this alone. I have read and reread many of the forums here in my attempt to figure all this out. At this time, my brain hurts. LOL I want to learn this, I just need a human to sit next to me or by remote, to show me wth to do.

My husband told me to just go pay someone to figure it out....BUT I want to understand how to do it myself.

    List of issues:
    Onedrive
    Windows 10 update (14986)
    File Explorer
    BIOS
    Audio
    Network
    Home group
    Backup will not work
Too many damn files on my drive (SSD) that are not mine
    Cortana

That is just what I remember at this moment...I am sure there are more that I am forgetting.

  7. That actually sounds like a valid purchase. I will order it tonight. Now I need how-to's for Dell laptops and HP desktops. Yes, I have a HP desktop all in one that is a ginormous paperweight. The very first Windows 10 update kill it. So I bought a laptop.
