Microsoft How many days does Quick Scan take to complete?

Answer Quick Scan? What's that?


Google had some good answers, but I didn't want t o be mean steeped in my disappointment that every quick scan takes unknown amount of DAYS and up to a WEEK to complete.


FAIL


There is no status bar to let a user know what percentage the scan is working at to completion. If interrupted it is unknown if scan has restarted or if it is still running.


Cannot find compatible Win 10 S ware to use as protection. DISAPPOINTMENT


This is day three and the quick scan will not advance. I gave up when this happened last month and the month before. I just use something else instead.



This product does not have an acceptable level of interface to assist a user wanting to perform basic upkeep and maintenance with security issues. Also, no results ever appear when the "quick scan", yawn! FINALY FINISHES, IF THAT IS A THING



Kudos if this was your best idea, but c'mon, would you promote this if you used it in these circumstances? AND THE HELP VIDEOS GIVE NADA TO ASSIST RESOLUTION OF THIS MATTER and the user forum reads like a mental health blog.

Windows Defender - Quick Scan

Windows defender no longer offers a quick scan option.

My options are:

• Scan
• Advanced Scan

• Full Scan
• Custom Scan
• Windows Defender Offline scan

Whichever option I check, the scan will need to run for hours to complete.

Is a quick scan available?

How do I restore this feature?

I firmly believe that this is an error. Add this to the 1809 bug list.
Try forcing another Quick Scan and post back.

Quick Scan?

Not necessarily. The time taken is calculated from the actual start and finish times. If you put the machine to Sleep/Hibernate part way through a scan the time taken will include the time spent asleep. Here's a quick scan that I put to sleep for more than 15 minutes part way through....





Uninterrupted, the same quick scan takes 1 minute 23 seconds.
