Windows 10: Quickly switching between two microphone inputs

Hi, i currently have a RODE NT-1A connected to my PC which i mainly use for recording my voice.Multiple times a day, when I leave my desk, I have to switch to the mic on my headset.Since i used discord as my main communication platform for the past few months this wasn't a problem.I could just right click the mute button in discord and got a list of input devices to choose from.I stopped using discord now and the software I currently use doesn't have this feature so I wanted to ask is somebody knows a easy and quick way to change between two input devices as the windows default device. All usb microphone inputs not working


So both my adapter for xlr to 3.5mm jack input and my newly purchased usb microphone are not recognised. I've tried updating the drivers, using different usb ports, uninstalling the drivers and letting windows do it manually. Every time though, it's listed as having issue's in device manager... Can some help?

 

Audio input not switching to headphones

I had upgraded to Windows 11 in my Acer Nitro 5 a while back which runs Realtek audio drivers. At first there used to be a popup allowing me to choose which audio device I had plugged in (headphones/headset) where headphones would have output to headphones and input from the integrated microphone while headset switched both output and input to the headphones. But recently, the popup stopped showing and I am unable to switch the input audio from the integrated microphone to headset microphone despite going through settings and control panel. Is there a solution for this?

 

Laptop switching from headset to built-in microphone on its own.

I did disable the built-in microphone a few times during my initial troubleshooting. But that doesn't force the headset to pick up the sound input function. Even after reboot, I just have no microphone
at all while sound still comes through the headset.
