Windows 10: Radeon settings and HDMI issues after update

I usually do my own troubleshooting but this is just bizarre.

After the recent update I noticed my Radeon settings wasn't in my system tray and I could not open it manually. Ok maybe the update broke it right?

So I run DDU in preparation for a clean install and reboot. Huh? No display output? Not even BIOS? All my peripherals fire up even my Focusrite Scarlet which requires a driver so I'm just not SEEING my login screen.

Swap the HDMI to my projector, nothing, power down PC and restart while connected?, projector detects it, I can login. Swap HDMI to monitor for the hell of it, works now (I have to do this every time now just to get output to my monitor)

I then attempt to install the latest Adrenaline, it finishes the first part and prompts a restart so I do, (queue projector->monitor musical chairs) it gets to the end and.. Oops error 1603.

So now I'm dropping a Win10 Superlight Image on a flashdrive to install on a spare drive and see if its something to do with the latest updates.

Anyone with similar issues after the recent update do chime in.

Radeon settings

I understand that you are seeing multiple System Tray icons for Radeon application. We will certainly assist you with this issue.

Usually, we have seen this issue with certain versions of Radeon application. However, if you want to disable this from System Tray you can try the following methods.



Method 1: Using Taskbar Settings.

• Right-click any empty space on the taskbar, and then select
  Taskbar settings.
• Under “Notification area” label click on “Select which icons appear on the taskbar”
• You can turn off the Radeon application in the list, which will in turn hide the Radeon System Tray icon.

Method 2: Use Radeon app preferences to remove the icon from System Tray.



I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in

How to Enable the AMD Radeon Settings System Tray Icon

In preferences section uncheck “Enable System Tray” option.



If there are multiple instances of Radeon running under Processes tab in Task Manager, I would recommend you to update the Radeon application from
AMD support.

AMD Radeon Settings update CRASHES

• Did you get any error messages? If yes, could you provide us a screenshot?
  
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Does this happen only when you watch videos?

PC to TV through HDMI

Hi,

Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

• Press Windows ( ) key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Hardware & Sound.
• Click Manage Audio Devices.
• Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
• Click Set as default and click Ok.

Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.
