I have a couple of 4Tb disks that are mirrored raid 1 on windows 11. The issue is that they keep syncing most of the time the pc is turned on, even if it was correctly shutted down. For example, 2 days ago they were synchronizing and I waited untill the sync was 100%: yesterday I turned the computer on and they were fine, today I turned the computer on and they are synchronizing again from 0%.Fast boot is disabled. How can I try to solve this issue?

    :)

How to image 2 hard drives with raid 1

    Hi there
Not sure if this is the best way but should work.

    1) backup data to individual external drives (or whatever -- cloud services etc). For basic data - use ROBOCOPY ,XCOPY, or simply Windows / File explorer.
    2) install new HDD's
    3) Create your RAID array's for the new drives.
    4) restore data saved via step 1).

If you have the Windows OS on a RAID device then that's beyond my knowledge - AFAIK Windows needs a hardware card with a driver to boot a RAID device. However the suggestion I've made will save / recover your DATA files.

    Cheers
    jimbo.

Is it possible to easily setup Raid-1 on this system ?

Get the six core CPU's I listed, at 3.3Ghz per core they will more than handle any calculations you throw at them for years to come, and with matching RAM in tri channel you will have a very strong setup.

My only other suggestion is a full RAID card like the one I listed with SSD's (in RAID 1)for the OS and programs, and then a RAID 5 array for backup and any large files on the board with a offsite final backup

Raid 1 resyncs like 50% of the time the pc boots on Windows 11

Does disabling write caching prevent a drive resync on software RAID drives?

I have a Win 10 Pro PC with dual 4Tb drives configured in Disk Management as RAID 1. This works fine except that if Windows shuts down abnormally the drives are resync'd when Windows is restarted and that takes about 16 hours. If I disable write caching
will Windows still resync the drives after an abnormal shutdown? Thanks.
