  1. RAID controller has no driver, cannot access SDDs

I'll preface this by stating that I am not very technically inclined, so I do not know all of the proper terminology, but I'll try my best to accurately describe my issue. I bought a new PC about two weeks ago, and after some frustrations a DoA PSU and UEFI/BIOS settings that were improperly configured by default, I got it to boot from the m.2 NVME drive as intended. To do so, I had to switch 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology' to OFF in the BIOS, enable 'Map SATA Controller under VMD', and disable 'Map PCIE Storage under VMD'. For the first week with these settings, I was able to access a

  2. Raid Controller doesn't have a driver

Hi Jack. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

RAID can also be the SATA controller driver that drives the hard drives, although AHCI is now the standard in Windows 10 and 11 for SATA controller, there are still a few named RAID.

Is there a device driver missing in Device Manager, accessed by right clicking the Start button? It will have a yellow ! mark to show it's missing driver.

Easiest way to remedy this is to update your chipset drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from Asus Support Downloads web page for your model here:

    https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Mo...

Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

I'm actually not sure what you just said, so I'll just list the steps.

    1: Install the drives
2: Go in to your BIOS (or whatever is controlling the RAID)
3: Set them up as RAID
    4: Install windows
5: Press F6 when Windows says "Press F6 if you need to install additional RAID or SCSI controllers."
6: Insert the floppy and load the drivers
7: Continue with the install like normal

  4. RAID controller has no driver, cannot access SDDs

Windows 10 Upgrade - TOSHIBA RAID Driver

That sounds good but that driver isn't in the drivers folder. Is there a list of Toshiba driver file names? so I can look for the random file?

note that I've also looked for any kind of RAID controller/device under Device Manager but no luck there either.
