Windows 10: Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wifi- Adapter not working in HP Pavilion 15

Hello there,


I have been using this laptop pavilion 15 of HP since 4 years, when I first got the laptop it was installed with windows 8 and now its been upgraded to windows 10. From the beginning the Wireless was not working properly. when I visited my nearby HP store they asked me to format my system, which I did but still the problem persist. Please please help me out here as I cannot use cable to connect everywhere, because of this problem I am not able to carry my laptop else where. Also I have used USB wifi adapter as suggested by some technician, even this did not work. your help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Limited WiFi Connectivity on Ralink RT3290 Driver on Windows 10 Pro

Hi,

I am running Windows 10 on a HP Pavillion 11 x360PC with Ralink RT3290 adapter. My machine was failing/slow to connect on local wifi whereas my wife's HP Pavillion G6 was connecting without problems. Her machine uses a Realtek adapter.

My post is at 10-02-2015 05:39 PM. Note I downloaded the adapter before doing any un-installs.

I had the same problem with Ralink RT3290 wifi adapter for almost 2 years. I finally stumbled upon a solution. The following steps fixed the problem for me.

Control Panel... Network and Internet... Network Connections... Wireless Network Connection Status... Properties... Configure... Advanced... Roaming Sensitivity... change to "Highest".

Hope this helps someone else.

 

Ralink RT3290 issue with buid 14915.1000


I am an insider. 2 days ago install build 14915.1000, a lot of problems were solved but my wireless connection stop work. I'm using a Ralink RT3290 802.11 BGN wifi adapter. when I try to update my driver gives me error code 37.
Any ideas and/or tips to solve this problem?
