Windows 10: RAM Bottleneck?

Hello, I have got my girlfriend a rx 580 8gb with her i3 10100f, which is pretty good. However, games are performing worse than when she had a gt 710. Even Mimecraft goes on low fps. Besides that, she got only 1x8 of ram, which pc only uses 6gb as max dk why, When I open any program lets say ow2 or minecraft, cpu usage and ram usage goes 100% while gpu usage stays on 30-50%. I thought the solution would be new ram 2x8 3200 but i dont know if also the cpu should be changed.Hello again, been occupied but I got all the needed info for a proper discussion.1 Pictures of the system just working b

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

To RAM or not to RAM...

Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin

The list doesn't state what frequencies are overclocked, but you're correct about Intel only listing DDR3 1066 and 1333 as supported.

The OP doesn't state what the RAM is clocked at, but I doubt that it's a bottleneck regardless. The RAM frequency usually affects benchmarks rather than applications.
