Windows 10: RAM DISK software recommendations

Greetings. There are a few posts on the forum concerning RAM disks and I've read them but thought I'd bring it up again. Is anyone running RAM disk software that they love - that isn't causing BSODs or other problems? I just got a new PC (Digital Storm VELOX) with 64GB with the idea of running a RAM disk for some disk-intensive throwaway stuff. I downloaded a trial copy of SoftPerfect's RAM disk software. It looked pretty good until I rebooted and got a BSOD - that's all it took for me to uninstall it. I saw the tutorial for ImDisk and that looks promising. I don't mind spending a few bucks on software if it works and it's reliable. Any favorites that you can recommend? Rob

What should I ram disk?

So, I have a bit more ram than I need,
I am planning on setting up a 4gb ram disk via the program dataram.

Anyone have any suggestions what I should store on it? It can't be the OS, I don't know if there is a point in setting it to be my scratch disk in Photoshop or 3DSMax. Should I pull games over to it when I play them?

I am putting Firefox on it for sure.
Any other suggested programs? *Toast :toast:

 

High RAM/Disk Usage

Thank you Lee for your valuable suggestions. I have already tried all of these steps multiple times, but still the service does not seem to stop anyhow. After many tries, I resorted to using 3rd party antivirus software and that works wonders! Windows Defender
no longer runs and takes up chunk of my RAM/Disk.

But I'm still curious and would like to know if there's any possibility that the service can be stopped manually and people get rid of it using up their slow pcs.

like everyone suggested, Ram DIsk really didnt make a difference on my personal rig. There was a tutorial while back t hat said firefox/ browsing could be sped up putting temp files on ram disk but loading new pages was slower, restart comp was a little slower, oveall not really worth it. For now
