I have tried many things to get rid of it and none of them have worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RAM usage at 90%+ when nothing is running

I recently upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and have been having nothing but issues since.

As the title states I have extremely high ram usage when nothing is being run.

I have pictures of my process monitor filtered by memory, resource monitor on memory, and my ram usage from the task manager.

I built the PC myself 5 or 6 years ago and never had a problem with it until now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

8gb ram 37% usage when i am doing nothing

    "i didnt open anything"

    - If not, you have Steam setup to launch when you boot into Windows. This can be disabled either in Steam Settings

or in Task Manager > Startup tab.

It looks like you've ran two searches which Windows is holding in RAM as well. Not a problem.

Win 10 does it's best to prevent your RAM just sitting there looking pretty, so it loads a fair bit of stuff, even at idle.

If the remaining RAM looks to come up short when you start running something that needs a lot of RAM, such as a game,

Windows will free up more RAM for the game or other foreground program.

Note that if you run a game or other high RAM use program Win10 will often hold some of that data in RAM after you close

the game or program as well. For how long I haven't worried about checking.

I'm currently sitting here with 3.3GB (21% of 16GB) in use just after closing a game, but with nothing else in the foreground other than

this forum I believe it's generally around the 2.2GB mark these days.

High RAM usage since Upgrading to W10

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and after fixing an audio problem I was happy that there was nothing else going on, that is until I opened my task manager and realized that my computer was using insane amounts of RAM. It started around 60%-65% total RAM
usage on startup when I first noticed it, but has now gotten worse and when I started my computer this morning it sat at 84% RAM usage on startup - with having only five web browsers open, no downloads going, the RAM usage sits at 87%. I have 16GB of DDR3
    Kingston RAM.

The highest process continues to be System and compressed memory, but it doesn't spike above 1GB of RAM usage at any given time. I believe its a strong culprit, but there are so many processes running related to Windows that I can't cut down on the number
of processes running at any given time, and this RAM usage is insane.

I've tried downloading drivers off of the Windows website but all it does is download an installer program that wants me to pay $30/year to download 5 drivers, which is ridiculous. I'm genuinely hoping someone can help me out here.

Also, I've seen that a lot of people have had CPU problems, but my issue is solely RAM.
