    Hii have a dell inspiron 3880 with i5-10400 that allows RAM speed upto 2666mhzsince it was pre-built, the ram stick8 GB was 3200mhz despite the max speed allowed by the processor being 2666mhzAfter awhile I attached another stick because of performance issuesI thought the speed would still remain 2666mhz but after installing the stick and checking the speed it reduced to 2400mhz.Is there any way to restore the speed?Thanks in advance

    Hey Madan. This is not a Windows issue or Microsoft issue but I'll try to help.

    To go from 8 GB RAM to 16 GB. You will have to actually purchase COMPATIBLE 16 GB sticks of RAM then install them. Dell Inspiron might have more information on what kind of RAM is compatible with your PC.

    Getting more RAM is not a simple troubleshooting fix and if you are on a laptop, it might be impossible.

    The Specs for that laptop list your RAM clock speed at 2400Mhz, even if you do but 2666Mhz RAM, the system will match the speed of the ram Sticks to the lower of the two automatically . . .
