Windows 10: RAM upgrade - Packard Bell oneTwo M3871 xx.U6R

I would like to upgrade the RAM which is currently installed in an all-in-one.

The ‘Packard Bell oneTwo M3871 xx.U6R’ (formerly Windows 7) was purchased in November 2011 and currently has the following spec:
• Windows 10 Home
• 64-bit Operating System, x64-bit based processor
• Processor: 3.30 gigahertz Intel Core i3-2120

• Memory Modules:
• Slot ‘SODIMM1’ has 2048 MB [2GB]
• Slot ‘SODIMM2’ has 1024 MB [1GB]

• 974.33 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
• 847.13 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

The performance is slow, so hence the desire to increase the RAM to 8GB (2x 4GB).
My problem is that I have been unable to find any instructions on how to access the rear of the case.

If anyone can help, I would be extremely grateful.

My PC is a Packard Bell OneTwo M3871 Touch Screen but is not compatible with windows 10 although it automatically updated itself from 8.1 to 10 build 10240 which I didn't really want. I am now stuck on this version and I cant make it any further which is
frustrating to say the least. How can I stop my PC from downloading and then trying to install 1607 etc.

I would use the guitar pick to open the case instead of a pocket knife!

I have already tried to follow the YouTube removals, but they do have an admittedly a slightly different case. Some time ago I even contacted Acer/PB support, but they were not prepared to provide anything - they thought that I should pass it to a 'professional'. *Rolleyes

I agree about using the guitar pick - far less likely to cause damage. *Wink

Replacing the RAM is no problem - I have done the procedure a number of times before on both laptops and towers - it is the access (without causing damage) is the problem. *Huh

Why on earth will they not co-operate? *Sad

 

I have found the precise case identical to my AiO here:


The model number is different - ZX6971 not M3871. *Confused
However, the first problem is solved...

Now I need to find the secret path to the RAM. *Biggrin

 

It's under the largest metal cover.

Eureka! Success... *Thumbs

The major problem was removing the back of the casing.
There was absolutely no way (which I could find) to remove the back without damage to the edges of the case. *Sad

However, the target was achieved.
The RAM was successfully installed under the largest metal cover, as advised by NavyLCDR.

The outcome of the RAM upgrade is impressive. My All-in-One is flying!! *Biggrin
