  1. RAM Upgrade to ACER M3910

    I have just increased the RAM on the above machine to operate with Windows 10. Everything works fine, but I just wanted to check something.

    There are two banks of two RAM Sockets, i.e. four sockets.

    The original RAM capacity was strangely to me 3GB - a 2GB board and a 1GB board. I bought two lots of 4GB RAM = 8GB in total and moved the two original boards to the vacant slots. I then fitted the two 4GB boards in the original used positions. So I had assumed that the two new 4GB boards would be a pair and the 2+1 GB boards would be the other pair. But when analysing the total RAM, things came out as follows: - Bank0 4GB / Bank1 2GB / Bank2 4GB / Bank3 1GB.

    Do I need to change the physical location of these boards within the four slots for optimum performance?

    :)

  3. Vintage: Acer Aspire One 722 {Ram Questions}

    Hi Captain.

    While I'm not answering your question on a new AV I would suggest as a possible step, upgrading your ram.

    Crucial has ram for your device. $40 (not sure about tax or shipping) Your device seems to have one slot so you would need the 4GB stick. As you are using 32bit OS you can only use of 3GB. Crucial says you have one slot for memory and tear down videos seem to confirm this.

    Here is the Crucial Link. Confirm for yourself that this is the right device. (Acer Aspire One 722-0022)

    http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compat...e-one-722-0022

    Then here are the step by steps to replace.

    https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Acer+As...lacement/53216

    Memory is static sensitive. Not as much of an issue when it is humid but still something to be aware of. If you don't want to buy a ground strap touch something that is grounded before starting the procedure and then don't go looking for things. Stay seated and perform. You should be fine.

    External ram ??? Even if you could buy you wouldn't have port with sufficient speed to connect.

    Video card or RAM need upgrading?

    Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
    I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
    I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.
