Windows 10: ram usage percentage is more than what is used

hey it says 62 percent even tho only 1.3k ram is used.. i have 8gb ram in my lap... sometimes it says 90 percent when like only around 3k ram is used.. pls help me ty

To explore more on RAM usage by processes and see in-depth I advise you to open the Resource monitor, please follow the below steps.

Step 1 :

Open Task Manager

Step 2:

Click on Performance

Step 3:

At the bottom click on Open Resource Monitor

Step 4:

Under Resource Monitor windows click on Memory

Step 5:

Click on Working Set to list the top process utilizing the more RAM and then evaluate RAM usage.

why are my ram usage percentages so high in task manager

I have 8 GB of ram on my PC. So I'd expect my ram usage to be at 100 percent when I'm around 8 GB in usage. But whenever I'm checking task manager, I'll have a couple programs open only using about 500 to 600 MB of memory, and it says that I'm using 50
percent of it. Not sure if this is just a bug where I'm getting the wrong percentages or something. But whenever it reaches 100 percent usage, I get a huge drop in performance.

 

Looking For Program to Show CPU Usage % In Systray

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like HWiNFO will show what I'm looking for (CPU usage and RAM usage) as percentages.
