Windows 10: RAM went from 4GB to 3.38GB

Hey so I have a lot of problems with my laptop and here is one of them. I could use 4GB ram but now it randomly went from 4GB to 3.38GB why did that happen?? I can't use 50% of my apps and the greatest part is I can't edit videos anymore because my laptop will crash. Can someone just help thanks.

Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

Hi There,

I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

• I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
• physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it

Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

Please make windows 11 run smoothly on 4gb ram and 96gb hdd

We don't work for MS. We're normal users like you.

I'd suggest two options:

• Uninstall unnecessary RAM-eating apps which you don't use.
  
• Increase the memory to at least 8GB by adding a RAM stick of 4GB but which is compatible with your device.
  

4GB is the minimum req., so you may need high amount of RAM.

 

Can I upgrade to 8GB (4gb * 2) Ram?

In addition to Post #2, I'd suggest looking at Gigabyte's recommended memory list for the board. Unfortunately, they have only tested a few 4GB modules. Most of the correct type may work, especially if you're not looking to go above 1333 Hz.
